Ayuesh Agarwal, winner of various international and national competitions and a graduate of the Barcelona Academy of Art, is conducting a 35-hour workshop.

 

This one-week course will introduce students to academic painting methods, enriching their visual vocabulary and providing a methodology that can be applied to other art disciplines.
The process is rooted in academic art, with a focus on constructive drawing and a deep conceptual and observational understanding of shape and colour.

 

He explains, “For me, painting is a way to understand the world. Some pieces stem from personal memories, while others arise from travel or observing everyday life unfold. I try to evoke a feeling or moment that suggests something deeper without fully revealing it. A painting becomes more compelling when it includes mystery or ambiguity."

During these five days, you will create two works following a methodological process to understand fundamentals under Ayuesh's guidance: a portrait drawing and a portrait painting from a live model. The course will commence with a theoretical session and a demonstration by Ayuesh Agarwal, followed by practical exercises.​
