This four-week course will introduce students to the Academic Methods of training in Drawing & Painting enriching their visual vocabulary and providing a methodology that can be applied to other art disciplines.

The process is influenced by Academic Art, with emphasis on constructive drawing and a deep conceptual and observational understanding of shape and color. The study is divided into Studio Sessions and Model Room Sessions.
 

WEEK 1 & 2

Drawing the Figure and Cast in Charcoal

WEEK 3 & 4

Portrait Painting and Figure Painting in Oil

Instruction is by individual critique and frequent class demonstrations.
